Enor Bastianini this year he was part of the second level of pilots interested in the market. The first was composed of Bagnaia (which he signed in March), Quarterly (signed in April), Marquez e Martin.

Enea, on the other hand, is part of the second round of signatures: him, Vinales and Bezzecchi.

These were his words on Thursday in Assen. Obviously there has been a lot of talk about him moving to KTM.

Do you feel more relieved now?

“A little more but all quite similar”

Did you feel treated well, badly, or fairly by Ducati?

“I didn’t feel treated badly, but it was a difficult situation, being questioned not only by Ducati, but by everyone, is particular. It gave us the opportunity to push to the maximum but on the other hand there was the thought ‘who knows what happens’, they were correct however because they had said that at Mugello the decision would be made and so it was”

Is moving from an official team to a satellite one a step backwards?

“The bike is official, the team will be official in the end, the bike will have KTM written on it”

There will be Pigiamino…

“There will be Pigiamino (Alberto Giribuola, his crew chief at Gresini, with whom he got on great and who is now at KTM, ed.), so come on we will have a good base and whoever is stronger will decide, as we saw with Pedro”

Why KTM and not Aprilia or Yamaha? Where was Aprilia on the list?

“As I said, we were there and we had to decide, the sooner I got this thing out of my way, the better. I decided in a short time, what pushed me to KTM is the project behind it and I felt 100% wanted and I made this decision”

How do you play two-thirds of the season knowing you’re going to leave? How does it feel? How do you motivate yourself?

“The fact that I think more about the present than the future, about what is happening now. When I return to the garage I feel like I want to do the best I can without being malicious or afraid, I am calm and I am sure that Ducati will give me what I need between now and the end of the year. I remain charged”

Sabout the situation in the championship…

“I come from very good races, in the last part of the race at Mugello I gave my best. I return to a circuit that is not easy for me, but I am confident, my set up is good and here too we can fight”

More on the decision that brought him to KTM…

“After the Mugello race I understood that Ducati had chosen, the market moves quickly, it was not an easy choice. I had some solid and good proposals but when I saw the team’s project I understood that we could win and it gave me motivation to choose. My teammate will be Maverick and we will be strong”
