285 km with 13 Dolomite passes

The Maratona Dles Dolomites owes its great success to the beauty of the places, but also to the ability to evolve and always invent something new. This year, together with the Aosta Valley mountaineer Hervé Barmasse (photo below), the Organizing Committee presents the Supermarathon.

This is a new project that combines sporting passion with a reminiscent journey, which is nothing other than an invitation to immerse yourself in the history and culture of the Dolomites through cycling. As well as a big one challenge your limits.

Hervé, the first to take on this challenge in the days preceding the Marathon, will face it all the climbs climbed in the 37 editions of the Marathon on a long itinerary 285 kilometers with 13 Dolomite passes and a height difference of 8,400 metres.

In fact, the Maratona Dles Dolomites has not made any changes to its three historic routes for a long time: long, medium and short. The possibility of competing on the same tracks year after year is one of the strong points, since in this way you challenge yourself, even before others.

Long-time granfondo runners, however, will remember that the Marathon routes have not always been these. In the past they were different, even longer and more demanding.
The Supermarathon brings together all the Dolomite passes tackled over the years by the Marathon.

Starting from July 15th, the MySuperMaratona will offer everyone the opportunity to follow part of this itinerary via Strava, promoting widespread participation.
This is not a competitionbut of a personal challenge that can be undertaken every day with which the organizers want to celebrate the history of cycling and its constant change, enhancing the continuous mutation of human life.

Maratona Dles Dolomites 2024: the three historic routes

Those who are lucky enough to participate in the Maratona Dles Dolomites 2024 scheduled for July 7th will put themselves to the test on one of the “historic” routes.

The three routes are now a classic not only of the Marathon, but of cycling overall: the Marathon with 138 km and 4,230 m of altitude difference, the Medium with 106 km and 3,130 m of altitude difference and the Sellaronda with 55 km and 1,780 m of altitude difference .
All strictly closed to motorized traffic.

Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Giau, Falzarego and Valparola: a magnificent carousel to tackle immersed in the silence and splendor of a unique landscape in the world. An experience to be enjoyed in one go, without forgetting healthy competitive spirit.

For us there will be Giovanni Bettini, who just in view of the event in Corvara a few days ago created the ignorant tour that you see below:
