Leclerc and Sainz need to calm down

How to judge the sparks on the track and in the post-race statements between Leclerc and Sainz, in the recent Spanish Grand Prix? In a simple and linear way. Why the little touch on the third lap at turn 1 must remain an episode in itself and not the beginning of something unwanted and sterile. Regardless of who has an ounce of reason more or less, tantrums are useless now. Neither to the two of them, nor, much less, to Ferrari. Arguing for a fifth or sixth place, with a car that at the end of the race takes twenty-two seconds from the winning Red Bull of the stellar Verstappen, twenty from the best McLaren and five from the reborn Mercedes on the most reliable and probative circuit of the world championship, really has very little importance . It’s a small and useless war.

Nervousness in Ferrari

It is certainly proof that there is nervousness within the Red Army and that, at the same time, it is urgent to intervene to calm the situation and cool it down, before the state of things becomes more complicated and becomes even more extreme, in consideration of two aspects quite important.

First, there is still a Constructors’ World Championship at stake, with Red Bull continuing to be very limping, alongside the very vigorous Vertappen with a Perez who is increasingly at sea in terms of performances and results.

Second, if the Red couple of the two Carlettis has been broken up for the future, it is not the fault of either of them, but this is a precise choice by Ferrari itself, which from 2025 onwards has decided to make use of Hamilton’s prestigious services. However a minimum of ambition on Sainz’s part is also understandable, who next year (and who knows for how long) will have a single-seater in his hands – whatever it may be – much less competitive than this season’s SF-24. So if the Spaniard doesn’t lend himself indiscriminately to being a team player, it just remains to be understood, considering however that he has already amply demonstrated that he is someone who does nothing against the team, in four years of militancy which is otherwise mirrored.

Therefore the conflicts between the two Rossi riders should and could subside, considering that neither Leclerc for Sainz nor vice versa Sainz for Leclerc represents the real enemy to beat.

Furthermore, if a single-seater isn’t a winner at the moment, what’s the point of fighting over positions that don’t even bring a drop of champagne?

Going to war is useless

The truth is that the real reasonably achievable target, i.e. a highly prestigious placing in the Constructors’ World Championship, will only be achievable with the collaboration and coordination of and between both.

Dear Carletto 1 and Carletto 2, stop throwing tantrums and looking at each other askew, because if you look closely, the reasonable consonance between you is the precondition that could bring the best out of a troubled year, in the interests of Ferrari and also of you themselves. All starting this weekend in Austria.

So, good luck, and please, calm down the hot spirits.
