A few months ago we announced that the Regions Trophy, the most important national trophy for youth volleyball, would be held in our city.
We worked hard on it, after the splendid success of the Beach Pro Tour, thanks to the collaboration with Fipav Calabria and with our historic volleyball clubs.
Yesterday the splendid inaugural ceremony was held, with hundreds of people from all over Italy who literally invaded the Rino Gaetano amphitheatre.
Our great Daniele Lavia was also a welcome guest .
From today the tournament will move to all the stadiums in the city, and will be streamed throughout the channels Italian Volleyball Federation .
The curtain onAequilibrium Cup-Regions Trophy 2024 he is ready to get up. Like every year, the long-awaited event returns which since 1982 has represented one of the most important events in Italian youth volleyball, the culmination of the sporting activity carried out at a territorial and regional level.
ALL THE SPORTING DETAILS OF THE EVENT
Corigliano-Rossano (CS) will host the thirty-ninth edition of the TDR, the flagship of the Italian Volleyball Federation’s activity; in Calabria the regional Under 15 women’s and Under 16 men’s teams will compete. The province of Cosenza will therefore welcome the forty-two teams, twenty-one male and twenty-one female, who will compete to raise the coveted trophy to the sky. Last year, Lazio triumphed in the women’s tournament, while the men’s tournament saw the triumph of Lombardy.
A symbolic moment of the event, it is certainly linked to the opening ceremony; all the regional selections, accompanied by their technical and managerial staff, will parade through the streets of the center of Corigliano-Rossano from 7pm on Sunday 23 June until arriving at the Rino Gaetano Amphitheatre. Present at the ceremony, among others, was also the spiker of the men’s national team, world champion Daniele Lavia, an important day for him given that the Italian himself began his career in Corigliano Volleyball, before becoming an absolute star of world volleyball.
The usual Technical Meeting, another appointment of fundamental importance of the event, is scheduled for Sunday at 9.30 pm in the Sala del Villaggio Airone Resort in Corigliano-Rossano. The start of the races is scheduled for Monday 24 June; the matches of the men’s tournament will start at 9 am, while those of the women’s tournament will start at 3.30 pm. The finals are scheduled for Friday 28 June.
There will be ten facilities that will host the one hundred and fifty matches that will characterize this new edition of the Aequilibrium Cup-Trofeo delle Regioni 2024 from Monday 24th to Friday 28th June: the “Brillia” sports hall, the F. Calabrò hall, the high school campus, the Pala Events, the ITI – IPA – ITI “E. Gym Majorana”, the IIS Green Falcone e Borsellino Gym (Via S. Cosma e Damiano, 20), the IIS Green Falcone e Borsellino Gym (Via G. di Vittorio, 1), the Sporting Club, the ITAS-ITC Gym and the IIL Palma.
Everything is therefore ready for the start of the event, which as is known, represents the arrival point of a much longer journey that started in recent months and which includes the Territories Trophies which were held in all the Italian regions. Corigliano-Rossano is therefore preparing to be the capital of Italian youth volleyball.
