The tenth edition of the Trentino Basket Cup will begin on Sunday at 7pm, which this year will see Italbasket challenge the Georgian national team. There are still few tickets available on the Viva Ticket circuit. Many protagonists and many NBA stars such as Gallinari, Bitaze and Mamuk’elashvili. There will also be the protagonists of the EuroLeague such as Thomasson, Melli, Shengelia, Pajola, Ricci, Abbas, Polonara, Bortolani and Caruso. Attending the press conference were: Ermanno Villotti (vice president of the Bank for Trentino and Alto Adige), Salvatore Panetta (councillor for sport of the municipality of Trento), Matteo Agnolin (director of APT Trento), Luigi Longhi (Dolomiti Energia Trentino) , Luigi Datome (Head of ItalBasket Delegation), Gianmarco Pozzecco (CT ItalBasket) and Nicolò Melli (Captain ItalBasket). After the greetings from the authorities, the words of the president Luigi Longhi:
LUIGI LONGHI (President DOLOMITI ENERGIA TRENTINO): «Being at the tenth Trentino Basket Cup is a source of pride. Let’s hope it brings luck to the national team in view of the pre-Olympic games, as it did on the occasion of the 1936 Olympics when Italy retreated to Riva del Garda.”
LUIGI DATOME (Head of the National delegation): «Here in Trentino we are at home, having a retreat in Trentino is now a tradition, we feel very comfortable here. It’s not easy to get together in such a short time but we’ve known each other for many years. Tomorrow will certainly be a good match against a great opponent in front of a large crowd.”
NICOLO MELLI (Captain of the national team): «it is a source of pride to be the captain of the national team and a pleasure. We all know each other and it is a group that has been going on for many years and we are happy to be here.”
Tomorrow before the match the village with bar, a Macron stand and an IBSA stand will be open from 5pm.
