find out who took the most

It starts to rise sharply againafter the decline recorded in particular two years ago, the number of Italian taxpayers who have expressly put their signature to allocate 5 per thousand of their taxes for charitable purposes. If from the over 17 million and 700 thousand who had made this choice in 2020 we had in fact fallen below the threshold of 17 million in both 2021 and 2022, with the declarations of 2023 we have returned to be precise at 17,335,268 taxpayers. Which corresponds, translated into money, to donations for 525 million euros: the maximum allowed by the ceiling that the Ministry has set for this measure. The count is the result of data processing carried out by Third sector forumwaiting for the data currently disaggregated from theRevenue Agency are integrated with the total data of Irpef devolutions. But the trend is extremely clear.

As for the ranking of beneficiaries, however, the figures already have the character of official and there are no substantial changes: the Airc Foundation for cancer research confirms its first place in the list of beneficiaries. entities receiving the 5 per thousand and thanks to the choice of over 1.6 million taxpayers it will receive more than 69 million euros. This is deduced from the the list of beneficiaries just published by the Revenue Agency, which confirms last year’s data in the top ten positions. Almost 81 thousand subjects admitted to the contribution which, based on the preferences expressed by citizens, will receive over 520 million euros. But adding to this figure also the one destined by Italians to entities that were then not admitted (and which will therefore be divided among the others) the total comes to 525 million of which we have spoken. Among the many recipients: Third Sector and non-profit organizations, health and scientific research, amateur sports associations, organizations for the protection of cultural and landscape heritage, management bodies of protected areas and Municipalities.

The numbers

Specifically, the list of those admitted includes 80,838 entities in total. At the top of the list are the Third Sector and Onlus entities, equal to 58,870 to which over 332 million will go (64 percent), followed by 13,306 amateur sports associations that will receive 17.8 million. The entities involved in scientific research are 446 to which almost 70 million will be allocated, while those operating in the health sector are 106 receiving over 83 million, the 177 cultural and landscape heritage entities will receive 2.8 million and the 24 entities managing protected areas approximately 716 thousand euros. The list also includes 7,909 Municipalities which will be able to count on over 15 million euros.
