The Fir has to face a new dispute, promoted this time by Michele Faiella, the man who took care of the Federation’s Tik Tok channel for two years. The professional was hired following the agreement between the Six Nations and the social platform which became the main sponsor of the women’s tournament and partner of the men’s one.

The agreement provided for the use of the channels of the various federations with strict and mandatory commitments. In exchange for this commitment, the platform guaranteed an income which for the Fir, according to what we collected, amounted to around 200 thousand euros. A substantial sum that ended up almost entirely in federal coffers. Because the one who fed the channels in the last two seasons cost 42 thousand euros gross in two years.

It happens that Tik Tok does not renew the agreement and the social video man is left at home after 12 months. Nothing strange one might say, but in our opinion this is not the case. Focusing on a social platform in 2024 means believing in it and fueling it according to the company’s mission. In the specific case of the Federation. And if after two years a platform is abandoned just because the sponsor has ceased, it means that there is no planning and foresight.

Also because Tik Tok is the most followed social network of the Fir with 322 thousand followers in two years, compared to 299 thousand of IG, but compared to a longer presence and 309 thousand of Facebook.
