VILLORBA (TREVISO) – You can come and do some exchanges at padel or a session in the gym, then eat something and finally go to watch the match nearby Palaverde. It is the future, now very near, of‘Imoco Centerthe multifunctional complex built next to the sports hall a Villorba. After the padel courts and related changing rooms which have been operational since July last year, and after the car parks, theImoco Bistro: further piece of that part dedicated to socialization and aimed at all citizens. «The idea is for a center open 7 days a week -he confirms Peter Maleco-president of the club and exponent of the Maschio, Polo and Garbellotto families, creators of the phenomenal yellow-blue adventure – A sort of citadel, but not for the sports team, but for the community. For people looking for activities to do, perhaps to spend a different Sunday before going to watch an Imoco or TVB race. And then during the week, thanks to padel, a discipline that is becoming popular, we believe we can offer a good service to the entire area.”

BUT IT IS NOT A CLUB HOUSE

The bistro itself will be very different from the club house or restaurant of a sports club, reserved only for regulars and guests: «It is no coincidence that it was deliberately placed facing the street, to be accessible to everyone. Just as we have specifically chosen to entrust its management to external professionals, because everyone must do their own job.” In fact, they will be in charge of the kitchen and dining room Sara Finazzi and her team (about twenty people), already tested “Al Volo” by Lancenigo. From 7am to midnight, the offer will include breakfasts, lunches, dinners, as well as various aperitifs and snacks, ranging from platters or club sandwiches, to pasta dishes and more elaborate second courses, including some recipes for lovers of a “healthy” diet. The project curated by architect Andrea Pulito, in collaboration with Elso Bandiera for green spaces, is slowly taking shape: «By the end of the year, it should be finished – predicts Maschio – The Imoco Volley Lab is missing: we will replicate the structure we have in Conegliano, in a slightly more complex way. It will house a gym and studios for physiotherapy, osteotherapy, cryotherapy and other activities. The upper floor will be managed by John XXIII nursing home in Monastier, an excellence of the territory that will thus leave its hospital borders. On the front, there will also be the new headquarters of Imoco Volleyball: we are now cramped in the office dedicated to Palaverde, because over the years we have also grown in number and if we want to carry out the activity as best as possible, we also need the right spaces ». The next steps also include the creation of a facade to make the structure immediately recognisable to those passing on the nearby road. «There was a sinkhole here. I know this well because, living not far away, I passed it continuously – underlines the mayor of Villorba, Francesco Soligocutting the ribbon together with the deputy mayor Giacinto Bonan and the councilor for Sport, Egidio Barbon – So congratulations to the entrepreneurs who had the courage to invest to create such a structure”.

ONE HUNDRED PLAYERS PER DAY

Already today the padel courts attract a hundreds of players a day. But, as mentioned, the intent is to increasingly broaden the experiences and, consequently, the audience that uses them. «We would like you to come here to experience not only the volleyball or basketball game, but also the pre and post – continues Maschio – In an American stylewhere when you enter the building, you can stay as long as you want. In Italy, perhaps it is a concept closer to football, which however has other possibilities. We, naturally, have contextualized it to our territory and are convinced that it can grow. In the meantime, we are completing this first step, which is already very challenging, and then we’ll see.” Even if the 12 thousand square meters available are in fact now full, there is no shortage of further ideas: looking, for example, at beach volleyball.
