Great feat by the Canyon // SRAM girls in the third stage – the Vevey – Champagne of 125.6 km – of the Tour de Suisse Women. Splendid team action and arrival on parade for Kasia Niewiadoma and Neve Bradbury with the success of the Australian, her first triumph in the top category.
Behind them, the Dutch De Vries and the Australian Spratt are 1’56” behind, in turn followed by a quartet made up of Longo Borghini, Vollering, Realini and Cadzow, who reached 2’11”.
The decisive action began from the first kilometers when the two Canyon athletes took off together with Amanda Spratt (Lidl Trek), Femke De Vries (Visma Lease a Bike) and Elena Pirrone Roland). Then on the last climb of the day, the lunge of Niewiadoma and Bradbury who went on their own towards triumph.
Vollering retains the gold jersey as leader of the general classification, while Bradbury climbs up the general classification and takes second place, causing Elisa Longo Borghini to slip to third.
