Never Give Up, record-breaking solidarity and laughter in Imola

Imola, 17 June 2024 – Ninth edition of Never Give Up – Memorial Nicola Ussia record-breaking. Yes, because at the ‘La Stalla’ community center in Imola they met well over the weekend 84 kids to play beach volleyball and 7-a-side football.

But, in particular, for raise funds and fuel the commitment linked to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and materialize the purchase of two defibrillators to add to the seven life-saving devices donated to the area in recent years. “The extraordinary response of the young people repaid us for all the organizational efforts – says Antonio Ussia who, together with the Bof association, is at the organizational helm of the event -. Almost 2 thousand euros raised which will allow us to purchase two defibrillators to place in Castel Guelfo it’s at Bisenzio fields. Maximum attention, therefore, to the Imola surrounding area but also to those who, like us, have experienced the nightmare flood.”

And in this sense, Never Give Up has also established increasingly continuous relationships with ‘I Ragazzi di Via Angiolina’ of Massa Lombarda, an organization that brings together many of volunteers deployed on the front line to lend a hand to the population of Sant’Agata sul Santerno after the flooding of the watercourses.

Challenges on the pitch from 9am to 5.30pm with the final successes of the Gim Tonic team in beach volleyball and Full Follia in 7-a-side football. Top scorer of the tournament goes to Federico Chelli (Full Follia) and best goalkeeper to Federico Quarta (Sacconi FC).

“Numbers growing strongly compared to past editions both in terms of registrations and proceeds collected – continues Ussia who shares the project with her sister Giulia -. But it doesn’t end here. Between charity auctions of sports memorabilia donated by great champions and demonstrations we hope to replenish the spoils. A preview? In September we will be ready for a padel tournament in the new structure of Massimiliano Narducci’s Koméro Padel Tozzona Tennis Park”.

With a purpose, as always, precious: “The correct and timely use of the defibrillator, and obviously its presence in community gathering sites such as community centers and sports areas”.

Then something new: “From next year Never Give Up will become one real association recognized to continue its path of solidarity with all the necessary bureaucratic trappings – concludes Ussia -. Thanks to our historic partner Ca’ Lunga I Vini, and to the owner Paolo Cassetta, who has supported us for some time in memory of my father”.
