Good morning and welcome to LIVE textual LIVE of the second semi-final of the ATP 250 in Stuttgart between Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti. Second direct comparison between the two with the Tuscan who in 2022 won two partial matches in the final of the Naples tournament. The winner of the match will find one between the American Brandon Nakashima and the British Jake Draper in the final.
Berrettini, a twenty-eight year old from Rome, comes to this event after having overcome the Russian Safiullin, the Canadian Shapovalov and the Australian Duckworth, leaving only one set on the way in his debut match. Having returned to competitions after a very long stop in the victorious ATP 250 in Marrakech, the Italian then had to stop again, choosing to give up Rome and Roland Garros to prepare for the season on his beloved grass.
For his part, Musetti, a twenty-two year old from Carrara, at the end of an uninspiring period on clay, is adapting his tennis as best he can to the European courts. The Tuscan eliminated the French Mpetshy Perricard, the German Koepfer and the Kazakh Bublik, giving himself the semi-final derby with Davis’ partner, demonstrating that he can play at a high level even on this surface.
