Filippo Ganna confirms himself as the undisputed king of time trials in Italy. The Piedmontese won the time trial quite clearly Italian Championships of Tuscany 2024, 35.1 km totally flat in the surroundings of Grosseto, finishing his test in 39’17” to 53.6 km/h on average.

Nothing to do for Edoardo Affini (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), who had to settle for second place, 23″ behind his friend and peer Ganna, despite having set the same times in the second half of the race. Good 3rd place for Filippo Baroncini (UAE Team), who finishes at 54″ and wins the duel for 3rd place with Jonathan Milan (Lidl Trek). The Friulian had done slightly better in the first half of the race, but in the end he finished 6 seconds behind the Romagna. This is Affini’s second silver medal, after having also won two bronze ones.

Ganna thus achieves his 5th Italian time trial title and is now -1 from the record of Marco Pinotti, who has won 6.
