SBK 2024 – While waiting to get back on the Ducati Panigale V4R at Misano, Danilo Petrucci flew to Mandalika for a Ducati event in Indonesia, where he was able to reunite with a special bike.
The rider from Terni, fresh from the terrible accident he had with his motocross bike, was called by the Borgo Panigale company for the DRE program, where riders teach motorcycling tricks. The event took place in Mandalika.
For the occasion, “Petrux” had the opportunity to get back on the Ducati Desmosedici GP20, the bike with which he achieved his last victory in MotoGP in the 2020 French GP, a contact that was only photographic however, given that he did not get off in track with that bike.
We remember that Petrucci’s career in MotoGP began in the CRT era with Ioda, subsequently in 2015 he moved to Team Pramac Ducati with which he raced until 2018. In 2019 he moved to the official Ducati team, taking his first victory at Mugello. In 2021 he raced with the KTM of Team Tech3, subsequently taking part in the Dakar (winning a stage, the only rider to win a race in MotoGP and a stage in the Dakar, ed.) and the MotoAmerica (where he finished second in the Championship, ed.) .
Since 2023 he has been competing in the Superbike World Championship aboard the Barni Racing Team’s Ducati V4 and in the same season he has three podium finishes, two of which on the Most weekend. He ranks seventh in the world championship and second in the Independents Trophy rankings.
