Over 170 cyclists, representing 29 international teams, will arrive in Forlimpopoli on Sunday in the last stage of the Giro Next Gen 2024, the most important international event for cyclists under 23 together with the French Tour de L’Avenir. Organized by RCS Sport on behalf of the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI), the pink race for the youngest started from Aosta on 9 June and will end in the Artusian city, where the finish line of the last stage will be set which will start from Cesena and end it will develop along a 137 kilometer route mostly on the hills. The final part of the race will feature a circuit including the Bertinoro climb, to be covered four times, with as many passages on the streets of Forlimpopoli before reaching the final finish line, which will be set up in via Diaz. According to the timetable, the first passage in Forlimpopoli is expected between approximately 2.10 pm and 2.20 pm, and subsequent passages will be repeated approximately every 25-30 minutes. The race is expected to end between 3.50pm and 4.15pm.

Traffic and parking measures

To allow the race to run smoothly and guarantee the safety of participants, various limits will be imposed on parking and circulation in the municipal area. In particular, from 6pm on Saturday until 8pm on Sunday, a parking ban with removal and transit ban will be established in the car park in via Togliatti. On Sunday, from 6 am to 8 pm, the transit ban will be in force in: via Diaz (from the intersection with via Ausa Vecchia to the one with via Circonvallazione), piazza Pompilio, piazza Trieste, Rocca side, via F . Turati (between via Diaz and via Martin Luther King), via Crocette (from via Diaz to via A. Stanghellini). In the same period of time, the parking ban with forced removal will be active on these roads, according to the on-site signal methods.

From 10am until 6pm, the transit ban will also affect via Meldola (from the SP 37 roundabout to via Ausa Vecchia), Circonvallazione (from via Diaz to via Crocette/Baldini), Antonio Baldini (from via Circonvallazione to via XXV Ottobre and via Saffi), De Gasperi (from via XXV Ottobre and via Saffi to via Roma), Duca D’Aosta (from via Roma to via Papa Giovanni XXIII), via Papa Giovanni XXIII ) from via Duca D’Aosta to via Cantamiglio/Prati ), Prati (from via Cantamiglio to Via Fonde). Even in these streets (with the exception of via Meldola and via Prati) the ban on parking with removal will be in force for the current period.

It should also be noted that the SP 37 roundabout – via Meldola – via Selbagnone, the via Mazzini – via Turati – via Duca D’Aosta – via Matteotti roundabout, the via Emilia roundabout will be affected by a transit ban with mandatory direction indicated on site. for Forlì – via Crocette – via Baldini, the roundabout via Emilia for Forlì – via XXV Ottobre and the intersection of via XXV Ottobre with the Bennet car park and behind the IP petrol station. Citizens residing in the affected areas who need to travel by car during the day are advised to leave their vehicle in areas outside the race route.
