Olympique Marseille seems to have finally found the right man to start again with. It won’t be Sergio Conceiçao but another old acquaintance of Italian football, that one Roberto de Zerbi who is fresh from a positive experience on the Brighton bench.
A piece of news commented like this by Jerome Rothenwho doesn’t seem to appreciate the Italian coach very much: “There is excessive hype about foreign coaches. I struggle to understand De Zerbi: some great experts tell us that he is a fantastic, brilliant coach who is revolutionizing football. I have seen play his teams very often and we can’t say he is the greatest in Europe. Let’s put Shakhtar aside because he was forced to leave due to the war. With Sassuolo he did good things but he finished eighth he impressed when he played at the Vélodrome in the Europa League against OM. In the return they won only 1-0, a domination.. According to Rothen, the best choice would have been Sergio Conceiçao but the Portuguese has “more references and was waiting for an offer from a big club”.
