European Athletics has awarded a prize fund of 500,000 euros at the end of the European Championships 2024 athletics event, staged at the Olympic Stadium in Rome. In the sprints/hurdles joy for the Dutchman Femke Bol and Norwegian Karsten Warholm, both gold in the 400 hs with times of 52.49 and 46.98. In the medium and long distances, on the men’s front, the Norwegian was crowned Jakob Ingebrigtsen (double 1,500-5,000 metres). In the throws, the Croatian was the winner among the women Sandra Elkasevic (67.04 meters in the javelin throw. In the jumps seals of the Swede Armand Duplantis (6.10 in the pole vault) and the German Malaika Mihambo (7.22 in the long jump, best world performance of the season). Estonian decathlete Johannes Erm and Belgian heptathlete Nafissatou Thiam have in the road/multiple events/relays category.
