The Juventus sporting director, in agreement with the new coach, has found the perfect replacement for the Brazilian defender who he recently said goodbye to.
There is an air of total renewal in the Juventus house. After a season of stalemate, which was not exceptional but brought enough goals to begin a new chapter in the club’s history, society is about to make huge changes. We started from the bench, with the farewell of Max Allegri who made room for Thiago Motta, and will continue from the point of view of the squad.
It is clear, however, that in such situations the farewells will be different, and among these there will also be some very sad ones. This was the case of Alex Sandro, who greeted everyone during the last day of the championship against Monza, definitively taking off the Old Lady’s jacket after 9 years. With the separation from the 33-year-old now sanctioned, it is time for Juve to find a replacement.
In this sense, in the last few hours the road seems to be well traced. In fact, it seems both the sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and the new coach are finding each other total agreement on the name that will replace the Brazilian. This is a player coming from Barcelona, who however will move under Mole on a free transfer.
Great arrival from Catalonia
Able to play both as a central defender and as a full-back, and if necessary also as a winger in midfield, Alex Sandro was an important wildcard for Juventus. For this reason, therefore, the club wants to sign a player who has approximately the same characteristics as him.
From this point of view, one of the names that seems rather similar to him is Marcos Alonso of Barcelona. The Spaniard, also followed in the past by the Bianconeri, would be ready to return to Serie A after the fruitful years spent at Fiorentina.
Free deal for the Old Lady
The contract of the full-back born in 1990 expires at the end of Juneand to date the Catalan club does not seem willing to exercise the renewal option that it reserved for the signing two summers ago.
For this reason Alonso should soon be released and would have the possibility of joining another club for free. So we’ll see if Juventus will be the ones to take advantage of it and to grab the defensive shot to deliver to Thiago Motta.
