The technical manager of Italy Sevens Matteo Mazzantini has released the list of 13 Italian athletes called to debut in Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series 2024. The Azzurri, currently gathering in Udine, will leave Italy tomorrow morning to reach Kraozia by bus.
Next weekend in fact Makarska, city on the Dalmatian coast of Craotia, will host the first of two legs played under the Rugby Europe organization (the second will be played in Hamburg, Germany, from 28 to 30 June). Twelve countries will participate, including Ireland, holder of the 2023 title.
The Italian Sevens Group
Italy is included in the Pool B with Portugal, UkraineAnd France, will debut on Friday 7 June at 1.44pm facing Portugal; in the evening (7.16 pm) they will face France to close the qualifying pool for the final phase the following day against Ukraine (1.44 pm). All races will be broadcast live on Rugby Europe TV (www.rugbyeurope.eu)
Four changes among the Italia 7s squad
Out are Bozzoni from Zebre, Douglas and Vanzella del Mogliano and Tommaselli from Fiamme Oro, in are Lorenzo Maria Bruno from Lyons, Fabrizio Ciardullo from Viadana, Cioffi from Lazio and Passarella from Mogliano.
