Interviewed by TMW and from the other media present at the Triennale di Milano the event “La notte della C”, the president of Torino Urban Cairo took stock of the season just ended: “We threw away many apparently easy points along the way, and it’s a shame. What assessment do you make of Juric’s work??
“I have a lot of respect for Juric, he did an excellent job with us. We were coming off two not great championships, but with Juric we returned to the level of previous years. Maybe we did a little less than what we achieved in the past, but it certainly went very well good. We have recreated a team and a good team, with a group of players who have grown and demonstrated that they have values. I want to thank him because he has developed our athletes, even if we have not managed to achieve the objective that he wanted himself had given (laughs, ed.)”.
How do you judge his outburst against the fans?
“Juric is always very frank, he has said things that are even beyond. The Granata people must be understood, they are a people who have an incredible love for their team and their history. It cannot be said that the fans lack love for the team, ours are a people who want respect for some important things. I myself have always accepted the protest, because in the fans I see great love for the team, for the colors and also for the president to do more.”
What will you ask Mister Vanoli?
“I’m not talking about players or coaches who are currently registered for other teams. I congratulate Mr. Vanoli for his great performance this year and last year, but I respect Venezia and therefore can’t say anything other than welcome back to Serie A” .
What will happen to Good Morning?
“We are happy with him, he had a great championship and exceeded his qualities. He felt very responsible, the fact that he wanted to stay at all costs burdened him with a greater responsibility in my opinion. He did sensational games straight away, leaving no room for any attacker. I’m really happy with him and the entire team.”
How much does it cost?
“Good morning, he’s with us, he’s one of our players, he’s with us until 2028. I’m enjoying him, it’s not my intention to sell him.”
How important Juric was for the growth of your defenders?
“Juric, with his defensive play in the opponent’s half of the pitch, playing very high, made our defenders like Bremer, Schuurs, Buongiorno and others grow. On his part I saw a very good attitude in preparing them from the point of view of protecting the goal “.
He will acquire a great tip from the new coach?
“We already have a great striker, who is Zapata. And we have a striker like Sanabria, who scored 12 goals last year. I don’t think there is anything to promise, the Granata team loves results and facts, not the chatter. We have to choose the coach and the players well, doing the right things.
