TRAPANI – Trapani Shark goes 2-0 against Fortitudo Bologna in the Serie A2 final and ‘sees’ the finish line of the A1. The final scoreboard says 72-70 for Gentile and his teammates, at the end of forty minutes full of intensity.
Intense race at PalaShark
The success of coach Diana’s men was not a given, as many had thought after the 85-73 in game 1. For three quarters of the match the hosts were forced to chase Bologna, well led on the bench by an old basketball fox like Attilio Caja.
Notae and Gentile were decisive
Cunning and experience are decisive in the final JD Notae And Stefano Gentile. The first does not replicate the evening of grace experienced in the first match but there are still 19 points on the scoresheet in the end. Of these, five arrive consecutively with one minute and thirty seconds left. Notae then goes to look for a foul on a desperate shot from outside, putting in three consecutive free throws. Gentile, however, suffers a foul in the following attack which could have given Bologna the chance to get back into the game.
Long uphill match
These are the key moments of a match that was almost entirely uphill for the team set up by Valerio Antonini with the declared objective of A1. Proof of this is that he signed the first advantage for the Granata Pierpaolo Marini with one of his plays two minutes from the end of the third quarter: 52-51.
Now transfer to Bologna
From that moment on Trapani relies on Notae and Gentile, who add to the flashes of Matteo Imbro and to the class of Amar Alibegovic.
