The Spaniard comments on his Grand Prix at Mugello: “Before the race I would have signed for this result, now third position is bitter”

TOSky microphones, Jorge Martin does not hide his disappointment, despite the podium behind the two official Ducatis coming after a difficult weekend and with a zero in yesterday’s Sprint.

On the result of the race…

“Before the race I would have signed for this result, but in the race I was 2 tenths behind Pecco, I saw the victory there, I saw that I was close and that I had speed, that I was back: from there I moved into third position in two laps. I made a mistake as a rookie, but it won’t happen again this season”

On the improvements compared to yesterday…

“Yesterday I was very behind with the set-up and the front tyre, today I saw Pecco suffer in managing the front, he had a little more as always at Mugello, but less than last year: this motivates me for the next race, we have made a big step by completely changing the bike, we’ll see in Assen”

On Enea’s overtaking and “the rookie mistake”…

“I made a very open line, I didn’t think there was anyone behind me, I had read the gap on the board, and instead there was Enea: next time I will close the corner even if I’m alone, leaving a second position like this is not nice. The last laps were very nice anyway.”

On second position, then escaped…

“Riding behind Pecco I learned the lines: I fixed the points where I was struggling the most, Pecco was also struggling and I was thinking of catching him. I didn’t think I’d be there at the start and instead we made a big step forward compared to last year and I have improved a lot in my driving style”
