Alonso without rivals, Veijer and Yamanaka on the podium

Third victory in a row (the fifth in seven races) for David Alonso in the Moto3 Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. The Colombian rider from CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team strengthens his leadership in the general classification with a success resulting from a final forcing which led him to gain a limited but sufficient margin over his direct pursuers. Alonso resists in the last two laps Dutchman Collin Veijer’s attempted catch (Husqvarna Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) who finishes secondahead of the Japanese Ryusei Yamanaka with the KTM of MT Helmets – MSI inheriting the podium (first of his career) from Ivan Ortola who falls but manages to save sixth place in front of Luca Lunetta, seventh with the Honda of SIC58 Squadra Corse. Top five in that order for the other Japanese Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) and for Spanish David Munoz on the BOE Motorsports KTM. The entry class competition was staged in two tranchess due to the red flag stoppageexposed after a couple of passes due to the accident it involved the Spaniard Xabi Zurutuza (Red Bull KTM Ajo), rescued on the track and transported by ambulance to the medical center. The Spaniard from Red Bull KTM Ajo reported uno back trauma but he never lost consciousness and underwent a complete check-up.

Behind Lunetta, top ten final also for Adrian Fernandez (Honda Leopard Racing), Jacob Roulstone (Red Bull GASGAS Tech3) and for the other Italian Matteo Bertelle riding the Kopron Rivacold Snipers Team Honda.

In the general classification, Alonso continues to reach the top with 143 points37 more than the Spanish Daniel Holgado (106) by Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 than at Mugello it only collects crumbs (two points). Third place in the ranking for Veijer with 95 points. Behind the increasingly solid Dutchman, two Spaniards were also protagonists at Mugello in the upper quarters of the standings: Ortolà with 80 points and – further behind – Munoz with 60.
