The first seven years of life of a new Ferrari will make you sleep peacefully. For all those who have bought a Ferrari since 2011 the Ferrari Genuine Maintenance program was created, which already includes the first seven years of ordinary maintenance in authorized workshops in the purchase price of the new car. So far so good, but what happens if you buy an old Ferrari that is not covered by the standard 7-year warranty?
Ferrari, very high bill
If you are lucky enough to find a Ferrari in the garage, do not have it repaired by the first workshop you find along the road in case of problems. Let’s take for example a rather recent supercar like the F430. The latter, like all berlinettas, requires maintenance at least once a year or every 10 thousand km.
On average the first service at 10 thousand km costs around 1,000 euros. The second service at 20,000 km goes up to 1544 euros. The third service, at 36 months or after 30,000 kilometres, involves the same expense as the first service.
Although these are simple operations, such as changing the engine oil and filter, cabin filter, brake fluid and other checks, the outlay is quite substantial. The fourth service costs the same money as the second, while the fifth service must be completed after 5 years or 50,000 kilometers and costs around 1,300 euros. On this occasion the spark plugs are also replaced.
The sixth service, after 6 years or 60,000 kilometres, determines an investment of another 1,544 euros. With the program you will also be covered for the seventh year and work will be done on the engine air filter, belt and brake fluid.
Without guarantees we are talking about total costs which amount on average to around 1,300 euros per year, barring extraordinary repairs. In this case the figures skyrocket but we cannot give you a precise figure. It all depends on the type of repairs.
