In fact, the Estonian rider has started to compete at a competitive level also in this “off-road” cycling discipline, after having already practiced cycling at a purely amateur level for years. After having already completed an international race held some time ago in Scotland in an excellent position, Bottas went to South Africa taking part in Swartberg 100a 170km long race with an altitude difference of 2900 metres, achieving an excellent sixth place which earned him qualification for the Gravel World Championships scheduled for next 5-6 October in Flanders.

Bottas decided to dedicate himself to competitive cycling after starting his relationship with the Australian athlete Tiffany Cromwellactive in road cycling racing since 2009, winner of two stages at the Giro d’Italia Femminile and still a member of the national team.
