Professional cycling league, Pella president and Saronni vice

Roberto Pella was unanimously elected in Milan as the new president of the Professional Cycling League: thus ending the work of the extraordinary commissioner Cesare di Cintio, which lasted over 18 months. Biellese, 54 years old, Forza Italia parliamentarian and group leader in the Chamber Budget Committee, Pella is the mayor of Valdengo (Biella). The new deputy vice-president of the League is the Venetian Roberto Ciambetti, president of the Veneto Regional Council, while the other vice-president, appointed by the Federciclismo, is Giuseppe Saronni. The others elected to the Council are the lawyer Stefano Feltrin; the lawyer and member of the UCI Disciplinary Commission and Arbitration Board, Maria Laura Guardamagna; the director of the Giro d’Italia, Mauro Vegni; Marcel Vulpis, journalist and director of Sporteconomy. The auditor is Marco Ambrosini. Cordiano Dagnoni, president of the Federciclismo, was present at the elections.

The words As soon as he was elected, President Roberto Pella immediately thanked the extraordinary commissioner Di Cintio for the work done, and then explained: “Thank you all for your trust. I try to bring a concrete and fair proposal, because fairness is the basis of all relationships. I make use of a vice president and a very important board of directors, but my involvement will go to all the associates. We have to work to bring a result for the group. The interest of the little ones is also functional to the growth of the adults. I want to be everyone’s president.” And then some points from the program: “Broadcasting the scheduled races on TV is a priority, also providing guarantees to those who will organize the races in the coming months. Cycling represents for me, and for many, the best of sports because there is no better activity for the valorisation of our villages”. Pella continued: “We must lay solid and continuous foundations for commercial growth, we must generate new revenues”. A final, but important point: “I wanted to provide for the establishment of an institutional political committee with the presence of members of Parliament, Regions, Municipalities and Provinces to define framework agreements, a convention to facilitate the management of cycling in institutions”. Beppe Saronni also brought his message. “You know my story. After years as an athlete and manager, a new experience awaits me. It seems to me that the conditions are all there to do well, and all that remains is to pedal.”
