In this second week of Tour of Italy expect a few more surprises. We start again from today’s stage, May 15th Foiano di Val Fortore-Francavilla equal to 207 km. Wins in the sprint Jonathan Milan who won this fraction for sprinters, confirming himself as the fittest in this edition, which sees his signature on two stages. Not bad for him. Pogacar it remained almost on the sidelines, perhaps waiting for more suitable or more congenial paths for the final objective.
After 48 km, the program called for the Pietracatella third category mountain grand prize, the only one in the hamlet. The three-way breakaway started immediately and continued until the last kilometres, with a reduced advantage over the group. The group marched quickly towards the finish line and towards the final sprint which ended with a fall at 500m from the finish line. At the start several defections, as reported, which show another aspect of the Tour: the one linked to a virus that is forcing too many lump sums.
