Difficult Saturday for Enea Bastianini. The Ducati rider was in fact forced to retire during the Sprint Race of the Spanish GPappointment number four of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship, a due to a fall at turn 5 while he was doing the fourth to last lap.
The Ducati rider, once he arrived in the mixed zone, told his feelings to the microphones of Sky Sport Italia, focusing mainly on sliding:
“It was a difficult race – Bastianini said – here in Jerez it often happens that these patches form on the track. In reality, on that lap I thought I had done exactly the same thing as the previous one, but when I saw that there was a patch I couldn’t do anything.“.

Bastianini then continued: “Is it necessary to look at moto 2 to understand the conditions? Certainly, but it is also true that the track changed lap after lap. Here it happens that water rises from the asphalt: at the end of the race there was in fact a patch that wasn’t there at the start. Then, on Binder: “I tried to attack him straight away but I couldn’t do it, I waited a moment and was ready to attack again because I understood where to try to overtake. But I fell first“.
