Virtus Segafredo Bologna is eliminated from the 2023-2024 Euroleague. Baskonia, at the Fernando Buesa Arena in Vitoria, eliminates the men of Luca Banchi with the score of 89-77 in the second round of the play-in. They will therefore be the players guided by Dusko Ivanovich to challenge Real Madrid in the quarter-finals starting on Tuesday 23rd. Markus Howard’s performance was amazing with 28 points, but also Matt Costello with 19 he holds his own. Once again the Segafredo reaction is there, and it bears the signature of the Hackett-Abass pairing who, from one three and the other with enthusiasm above the rim, manage to bring the guests back ahead. The match was extremely hot, with a triple from Howard and a response from two from Lundberg which all lead to the break at 41-41.

Shengelia comes out of the locker room well with the Juventus +2, but it is the prelude to a partial that splits the match in two by Baskonia. Miller-McIntyre, Howard and Rogkavopoulos hit in every way allowed by basketball: entry, transition, tap in, triple, everything serves to bend the black Vs. Kotsar also enters the scene together with them and the gap reaches 16 points (60-47) with Howard still at three points. Bologna does what it can to try to put the situation back on its feet: above all from the arc Polonara, Mickey and Hackett try, but the Basques respond with rather similar coins and the excellent coordination between Howard, Costello and then also Sedekerskis (85- 70 with 5′ to go). The hosts, at this point, can manage with substantial peace of mind even if Segafredo fights until almost the end to try to reverse a path that seems to have been established.
