Triumph is now on the ropes, with one of its great rivals hitting the market with a fabulous new addition.

Among the giants who have made the world of two wheels great, the one deserves a special mention Triumph. In fact, we are faced with a brand that has demonstrated its ability to establish itself in the motorcycle sector, making itself capable of creating motorcycles with a European style combined with the American one.

The impressiveness on the road has always been clearly evident, with Triumph having now also decided to take part not only in the Supersport 600 World Championship, but also in the MX2 one. The results demonstrate how the British company has been able to create high-level cross bikes, with Haarup and McLellan who are doing well.

Furthermore, Triumph is a brand that over time has also been able to connect with some of the most iconic figures of the twentieth century, so much so that even an absolute legend like Bob Dylan rode one of these motorbikes. So when you deal with this brand you are dealing with the absolute elite of the world of two wheels.

For this reason there are many realities that aim to overcome the Triumph in sales, trying in some way to give life to models that can undermine the British reality. One of these comes from Great Britain, although its production now takes place in the USA, in Oregon, with the Norton which has thus chosen to renew its range by launching two new models of excellent value.

Norton Commando: here’s how the range changes

In the past the Norton had extraordinary success with the production of a particular model: the Commando. It was a road bike that was shown to the world for the first time in 1967, at the London Motor Show, with this being the flagship bike of the Norton range.

There was no shortage of problems in the initial period for this bike, especially considering how excessive vibrations were one of its main weak points. There Commando however, it showed itself in a very conspicuous way, with its length being 210 cm, its width being 65 and the saddle height being 79 cm.

The engine chosen by the British company was a 750-displacement twin-cylinder which could deliver up to a maximum of 60 horsepower. This allowed her to touch the 200 km/h and over the years they perfected it to the point that it could remain on the market until 1977.

Apparently the Norton seems close to relaunching the Commando model with two different versions. The first would be a naked with a name RS, while in the second case we would be up against the RR road sports car.

It is not yet clear how the bike will develop, although it will retain the twin-cylinder engine. The displacement will increase compared to the past and therefore also the horsepower. The lines will instead be much more modern, without forgetting some references to the past. There Norton Commando it will be among the most anticipated bikes of the coming months.
