Leaving behind the great success against Alsenese, Italian champion, Pallavolo San Giorgio is ready for the challenging trip to the Pallavolo Cerea field.
Third in the standings with 48 points, the Veronese team has made an important journey in the return round, winning seven matches and losing two against Soliera and Piadena and against Pallavolo Sna Giorgio will want to consolidate their playoff ambitions.
A historic company in the panorama of national volleyball, Pallavolo Cerea has oscillated between the B1 and B2 championships in the last fifteen seasons, winning the B2 Italian Cup in 2012 when the event was open to registration, and over the years it has seen a drop on the rectangle of high quality players such as Roberta Zampieri, Irene Michelini, current sporting director of Volleyball Peschiera, Sara Angelini and Ylenia Pericati, former Imoco player.
Not an easy opponent given the caliber of some of today’s players such as Camilla Cornelli, spiker from the Bergamo Uyba school with seasons in B1, Vigevano and Offanengo the main ones.
Coach Matteo Capra explains
“Yet another important match of this championship finale. Cerea is a team built for promotion and in particularly good shape. This match must also be approached as if it were a playoff match. We need to ride the emotional wave of last week’s derby victory to give the rankings another shake-up.”
Kick-off at 9pm, at the San Vito municipal gym in Cerea (Verona). Giuseppe Scarcella and Annarita Ferrara will direct the meeting.
