Rugby – Leonero Cup, Lecco triumphs. Victory for Viadana’s U10s

VIADANA The eleventh edition of the Leonero Cup took place on Sunday: Rugby Lecco triumphed with the best placing in all categories and Nuova Rugby Roma in fair play. First place for the yellow-black U10. Like every year, the Leonero Cup proved to be a splendid day of sport which involved 26 clubs from all over northern and central Italy and over 1000 young athletes on the field, many volunteers and a large turnout of the public.
The U6, U8 and U10 played all their matches at the Zaffanella Stadium, while the U12 matches were hosted on the fields of the Dante Bacchi Stadium in Casalbellotto of Rugby Casalmaggiore. The final stages were played in the afternoon on the main pitch of the Zaffanella Stadium. Excellent placings for the yellow and black Leoncini who took first place in the U10 category; just off the podium was the U8 who still managed to achieve an excellent fourth place. Rugby Lecco won the City of Viadana Trophy, awarded to the team with the best placing in the general classification. “Battista Berra” fair-play award to Nuova Rugby Roma.
