Indissoluble bond with Assen
There MotoGP he doesn’t fold and actually raises. In fact, the MotoGP world championship today made official some news that will be very welcome to all fans: the renewal of the contract with the historic Assen circuitin Holland, considered by riders and fans as theMotorcycling University. The orange track had its contract expiring at the end of 2026 but has already extended its agreement with MotoGP until the end of 2031.
The track, as well as being the most loved and recognizable on the calendar, is also the longest-running, having hosted the Dutch Grand Prix since the inaugural season in 1949. Assen is the only track to have always remained in the two-wheel world championship programme. The renewal comes on the eve of a year – 2025 – that will represent another milestone in Assen’s history. In fact, it will be celebrated centenary of the first edition of the Dutch TT. It’s difficult to imagine a better way to celebrate the anniversary.
