30 years of the rugby championship: an exhibition opens the celebrations – L’Aquila

THE EAGLE. With the inauguration of the photographic exhibition L’Aquila city of rugby, scheduled for Sunday 21 April at 11am at Palazzo Margherita, begins the week dedicated to the celebrations for the thirtieth anniversary of L’Aquila rugby’s last championship. It was 23 April 1994 when, in the final at the Plebiscito stadium in Padua, the neroverde team, coached by Massimo Mascioletti, faced and beat Milan 23-14, for the fifth championship in its history. An “impossible” victory against the then president’s battleship Berlusconiwho after that disappointment had left the oval ball to focus on the other Milan, that of the round ball.
The first event is the photographic exhibition at Palazzo Margherita, with images by photographers Roberto Grillo And Marcello Spimpolo, in collaboration with the L’Aquila Academy of Fine Arts and the Old Heart Neroverde Rugby Club Museum. Exhibition times: 9am-7pm every day from Sunday 21st April to Sunday 28th April. For the last day, closing time is brought forward to 5pm.
The thirty-year anniversary event was approved by a city council that voted on the city councilor’s agenda Livio Vittorinihas the patronage of the Italian Rugby Federation.
On April 22, at 5.30 pm, in the My Gym gym, public meeting The long road to a championship with the protagonists of the ’94 season and the memory of three fundamental figures of L’Aquila sport: Isaiah Di Cesare, Paolo Perrotti And Piergiorgio Desiati. On April 23rd, the thirtieth anniversary of the championship, at 3.30 pm, in the basilica of Santa Maria di Collemaggio, a mass will be celebrated in memory of the rugby players who are no longer with us. At 5pm, at the Relais Magione Papale, the awards ceremony for the players of the Polisportiva L’Aquila Rugby who won the championships in 1967, ’69, ’81, ’82 and ’94 will take place. On 24 April, at 10am, at the Discab Department in Coppito, Univaq conference on the topic Rugby performancephysical preparation, prevention and traumatology in modern rugby. Two events are scheduled at the Castle Park Auditorium. On April 26th, at 4pm, The Rugby we want and, on April 27, Branding and communication strategies in rugby. Grand finale on April 28th at the Tommaso Fattori stadium, from 10am, with the first “Sergio Del Grande” memorial for youth teams and, at 4pm, with the Serie B match between Rugby L’Aquila and Us Roma Rugby. Followed by the Third Half at the Rugby village with street food and live music.
