Volleyball series A3 – Scaltriti: “Gabbiano, it doesn’t end here. At the PalaSguaitzer it will be bedlam”

Mantua Two match points were not enough for Gabbiano to gain promotion to A2. Captain Gola and his companions came really close. Macerata, defeated in game 1, was 2-0 down in game 2, but managed to overturn the outcome of the match by winning the tie-break 15-13. Everything therefore postponed between the two teams to the beautiful Mantua on Sunday 21st, with kick-off at 7.30 pm. The A2 series dream continues and the PalaSguaitzer is expected to be bedlam, also given the good number of Gabbiano fans who have arrived in the Marche. In this regard, we would like to remind you that in the match-3 facility there will be pre-sale of tickets tomorrow, from 6pm to 8pm, and on Thursday from 8pm to 9pm. The spiker Riccardo Scaltriti is disappointed but confident for next Sunday’s match: «Macerata, after the first two sets we won, he had the merit of never stopping believing in it, but he was also in difficulty and we weren’t able to interpret the moment of the match correctly. We solved some problems for them, but then the episodes decided for them. But credit must also be given to them for having turned the game around without ever losing hope. It’s fitting that they won the game in the end. On a physical level, the match became more complicated as it went along, to keep the level of play high. We made a few too many mistakes when they appeared to be in difficulty. We must not become too discouraged because we remain aware of our means.” There is regret for the two untapped match points and the dream of promotion one step away, but the confidence remains in what still needs to be written. «I remain calm – replies Scaltriti – for game 3 and it doesn’t end here. We will face them in the bedlam of the PalaSguaitzer for a joy that perhaps we can enjoy in our own arena. Even in Macerata our fans followed us and I applaud them for this. Commendable. Our journey has moved and brought together many people who have fallen in love with our team along the way. We want to show that they really made the right choice.” Scaltriti anticipates something on the topics of the next race-3. «We are talking about the promotion play-off between two teams that play high-level volleyball.
