Against again, with the dream of overturning the outcome of the previous ones. For its second historic participation in the playoffs of the Serie A3 Credem Banca, fate has placed a bête noire that bears the name of Senini Motta from Livenza in front of Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano. And it will be an “Easter Monday” sui generis for the white and blues, away for game 1, scheduled for Monday 1 April at 6pm.
The opponent. Two out of two. In the previous two, played during the regular season, the Venetians always won against the Piedmontese. The green and white team played an excellent second round, featuring nine victories, five of which were consecutive, arriving just before the defeat on the last day in the derby against Belluno, which would have earned third place for coach Marco Marzola’s boys, and which instead also cost them fourth place, to the advantage of Savigliano. Overall, the Treviso team’s season had very similar statistics to those of Monge-Gerbaudo, albeit with a different trend: 15 victories (against 14 for Savigliano, who however won overall three sets more than his opponents), 43 points against 44 and a performance on the various fundamentals “in line”, in which the data on the attack stands out, which is 8th in the entire category in terms of effectiveness per set (Savigliano is 14th). On the pitch the typical green and white sextet sees Catone as director and Saibene as opposite, Mian and Mazzon as receivers, Arienti and Luisetto in the center and Pirazzoli as libero.
Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano here. Savigliano’s regular season could not have ended better, coming off four consecutive victories, including the one in the derby with Acqui, which was worth overtaking Motta di Livenza. Among the strengths of the biancoblu, certainly the “arm” of Luca Rossato, among the best in the entire category. The opposite presents the challenge like this: “I expect a good match, but above all an unpredictable one, given that during the regular season we were never at the top against them. With what objectives are we launching into this post season? Obviously, we aim to get as far as possible by fighting and showing the strength of our group.”
Previous. As mentioned, in the two previous games, both this season, it was always Senini who came out on top, victorious 3-0 in the first leg in Cavallermaggiore and 3-1 in the return match in Veneto, to which, however, the Saviglianese team showed up not in optimal conditions.
