All ready for the Tour of Flanders. Wout van Aert’s fall certainly has some saddened the wait for the Ronde which will take place on Sunday: it will be the second Monument Classic of the season. Edition number 108 for one of the most famous and spectacular races of the entire cycling calendar, let’s discover the route in detail.
TOUR OF FLANDERS 2024 ROUTE
The scheduled kilometers are 270.8, starting from Antwerp and arriving in Oudenaarde. The first hundred kilometers are completely flat and without any dangers (even though Belgian roads are known to always cause problems). Then the first two cobbled sections that anticipate the start of the walls: the first obviously the Old Kwaremont (2.2 km at 4% average gradient and 11.6% maximum). From 150 kilometers from the finish onwards there will be a succession of walls, the first decisive stretch should be 100 kilometers from the finish with Molenberg, Marlbouroughstraat, Berendries and Valkenberg. Then comes the first of two pairs Kwaremont and Paterberg (360 meters at 12.9% and 20.3% maximum). The last one will arrive 16 and 13 kilometers from the finish line, with the last 12, completely flat, leading to the finish line.
