G7 of Brindisi, the menu of the inaugural dinner at the Castello Svevo

For the inaugural dinner of the G7 leaders the focus is on a light menu with the typical flavors of Puglia. Four courses will be offered to the world’s big names at the event on 13 June in the Castello Svevo in Brindisi, a dinner in which the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will also participate.

“They will be traditional Apulian dishes – says Pierangelo Argentieri, president of Federalberghi and director of Tenuta Moreno, which is entrusted with the organization – but not only that, fish from all over the region and much more”.

The menu proposed to the G7 leaders

The president of Federalberghi assures that “all Apulian ingredients will be used”. The menu includes an appetizer with scorpion fish, dried cherry tomatoes and aromatic herbs, accompanied by barattieri and fiaschetto cherry tomatoes from Torre Guaceto.

The second course will be “partly a tribute to Italian cuisine. We are talking about tortelli filled with gurnard, then fish, with julienne of smoked bluefish”. And again, “the snapper fillet with Toritto almonds and a burrata cream from Andria with a crumble of sweet tarallo and railway cherries”.

The dishes will be accompanied by the renowned local wine, then the Carduus bitter from Brindisi and the Fadi coffee from a roastery also in the Messapian capital.

The G7 leaders, their staff and diplomats will be welcomed in three separate rooms within the evocative setting of the Castello Svevo, in Brindisi.
