Jesolo, he dresses as Jesus at the stag party: 200 fine for the future groom

In Jesolo, near Venice, a stag party cost the organizers a 200 euro fine. The reason? The future groom’s decision to dress up as Jesus, complete with a wooden cross carried on his shoulders. A fun idea, but one that the urban police regulations consider irreverent and blasphemous. From here, he explains The Gazzettino, the decision to proceed with the administrative fine of 200 euros and the seizure of the cross. The episode occurred on the evening of Saturday 1st June in the Piazza Marina area of Jesolo, where a group of young people had gathered to celebrate a stag party. For the occasion, the future groom dressed up as Jesus Christ and paraded through the streets of the center in a sort of via crucis with a large wooden cross on his shoulders, before the eyes of residents and tourists.

Some, however, didn’t like the idea at all, to the point of deciding to call the police. When the patrol arrived on site, she identified the group of friends and fined the future groom 200 euros. Celebrations like this for the stag do, he says The Gazzettino, were very widespread until a few years ago. And it is precisely to counter disguises such as the one sanctioned in recent days that the municipal administration of Jesolo had decided to modify the local police regulation. The objective: to sanction behaviors considered contrary to good taste and religious cults.
