In September Venditti arrives in Piazza Garibaldi – L’Aquila

SULMONA. Antonello Venditti will be in concert in Piazza Garibaldi, in Sulmona, on September 20th at 9pm. The event is organized by Elite Agency Group in synergy with the Municipality of Sulmona and Ferrini Spettacoli.

40 years after the release of the album “Cuore”, Venditti gives life to an extraordinary project, live and recording, to celebrate the album which collects songs that have become the history of Italian music, in their current relevance, and generational anthems such as “Notte prima degli exams”. “Night before the exams 1984-2024 40th anniversary”, this is the title of the new project which started with a special sold out preview at the Verona Arena on 19 May, and then officially kicked off in June, with three dates at the Terme di Caracalla, on the 18th, 19th and 21st (also sold out). Venditti and his superband will bring the songs from the album “Cuore” to the stage together with many other great successes from his long extraordinary musical history, in a series of concert-events. The celebrations will then continue in July with a long summer tour (departure on July 13th from Pistoia) which, as mentioned, will also stop in Abruzzo for the only date scheduled in our region.

“Cuore”, the album that marked the history of Italian music, is a dense album that offers in its 8 tracks an overview of the facets of human life, from personal relationships to historical-social events. In particular, the album contains “Night before exams”, a song that has become a true generational anthem. Since its release, the song has been a huge success and has managed to cross generations. An important cultural and social value that led the entire project to obtain the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and to be presented on 7 May 2024 at the MiC headquarters, in the presence of Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and Undersecretary Gianmarco Mazzi.

The album “Cuore”, released for the first time in 1984, has had a new reissue in the special edition “Cuore 40th Anniversary Edition” released on June 14th by Heinz Music/Sony Music Italy. The disc features not only all the remastered songs from that iconic album but also a previously unreleased song. Almost 10 years after his last studio album, “Tortuga” (2015), Venditti returns with the new single “Di’ una parole”, on the music of the song “Say Something” by the American duo A Great Big World in collaboration with Christina Aguilera. A sweet and melancholic ballad where the power of the piano and strings joins Venditti’s intense vocal harmonies creating a crescendo full of pathos. The text, signed by the artist himself, expresses the difficulty of communication in a relationship and the pain and vulnerability of those who try to let someone go, but at the same time urges a reaction, a sign of hope or love. The song, delicate and powerful at the same time, is produced by Alessandro Canini and Antonello Venditti.
