It is common opinion that i Gatecreeper are a death metal band that, contrary to what its American origins indicate, offers something in the wake of Dismember and Bolt Thrower. Then there are those who cite Obituary and Entombed among the so-called influencesbut that’s not the point.
You can call them homeless man, toilet And sex workers but they will remain a bum, a toilet and a whore. Perhaps in two hundred years these terminologies will have been completely erased from our sinful minds. But now I’m a bum, a toilet and a whore: what people think in their hearts is that it doesn’t take too many turns of phrase to make them feel more clean. Gatecreeper have nothing in common with Dismember and Bolt Thrower, perhaps a little something in common with the other two, but we’re talking about attitude and certain phases of their respective careers. Certainly not about sound comparisons.
The Gatecreepers, call them what you like, remain only an entry group indicated to those who have not experienced death metal first hand.
