In the next few hours, fresh and unstable air masses will contribute to the development of new thunderstorms and hailstorms which could hit some regions of our country by the evening.

The African anticyclone Scipio, which has dominated the Italian climate in recent days bringing a stable weather pattern and high temperatures, has started to lose some of its energy. This change has led to more unstable weather conditions for some regions and a consequent attenuation of the heat.

But which regions will be most exposed to unstable weather in the next few hours?
Eyes focused on the Northern regions and some corners of the Center. These will be the sectors that will be affected by this change. In fact, in the next few hours, the sky will be irregularly cloudy over much of the North where there will be numerous storm outbreaks, particularly in the North-East regions. Drier weather with large flashes of clear weather instead in the central and western sections of the North.

However, as happened in the last 24 hours, it will once again be the afternoon that shows the most evident signs of an unstable atmosphere with forecasts of temporal first on the reliefs and moving, towards the evening, to many areas of the central-eastern Po Valley where they could also take on a strong intensity, accompanied by sudden gusts of wind, heavy showers and local hailstorms.
In the Centre, however, less intense phenomena are expected, with occasional showers that could affect Tuscany, Umbria and the Marche in particular.
In stark contrast to the rest of the country, the South will continue to enjoy favorable weather conditions. The sky will remain mostly sunny, still allowing for a fully summer-like day.

CIVIL PROTECTION ALERT

Based on available forecasts, the civil protection department in agreement with the regions involved, who are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned, has issued a further warning of adverse weather conditions, which integrates and extends the one issued on Sunday 9 June. The weather phenomena, impacting on different areas of the country, could lead to hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin available on the department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it)

For these reasons it was evaluated for the day of Monday 10 June, orange alert for risk of thunderstorms in part of Lombardy, yellow alert in Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto, in part of Lombardy and Tuscany.
