Everything and more has been said about Federico Maria, born Fedez, in recent months, naturally due to the much talked about breakup with his wife Chiara Ferragni and all the consequences that followed. In reality, however, not much is known about the rapper’s life before he began his artistic career. The person concerned revealed something more during a podcast in which he took part and which saw him remember his teenage years.
Born in 1989 in Milan, he grew up as he is known in Buccinasco and studied at the artistic high school, but never completed his studies, leaving them during his fourth year, determined to dedicate himself completely to music. As soon as he came of age he composed his first mixtape for the Funk Ya Mama label and subsequently began working as second voice for the rapper Fadamat.
After releasing a second mixtape and the EP Diss-Agio, in 2011 he debuted with the album Penisola che non c’è and in the same year he published the second work Il mio primo disco da sold, to which they Guè Pequeno, Jake La Furia, Marracash and J-Ax also took part, among others. His YouTube channel also gave him great popularity, where in those years he published videos of his new works, such as Alfonso Signorini (national hero) who achieved excellent success. In December 2013 he founded the Newtopia record label together with J-Ax and the following year he became a judge on X Factora talent that still sees him as a protagonist today.

As is known, Federico is followed closely by his mother, who is also his manager, and who closely looks after all the artist’s interests. Fedez has always been able to count on the support of his parents Annamaria and Francoand speaking of the first, on more than one occasion she told how she learned the record business on her own and that she should be very grateful for all the work she did.

Before the singer chose the path of music, however, the Marias were a family like any other, and as a guest on a podcast, Fedez explained that with the severance pay obtained from his mother, who had been fired, his parents decided to take over a bar. That is how the future rapper found himself working as a bartender for part of his adolescence. Something he didn’t particularly like because, as he himself confessed, he doesn’t particularly like being in contact with people. “To do a job like this you have to be really good at it!” Fedez exclaimed.
