According to reports from Jeff Sneiderwho knows a lot about scoops, Sony Pictures at the moment he would have started the selection process to find his interpreter in the flesh Miles Moralesa character introduced in the successful animated trilogy dedicated to his variant of Spider-Man in Spider-Verse. It all started with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, a film liked so much that it conquered the Oscar Prize as best animated film. The direct sequel, Across The Spider-Verseconquered the box office, becoming one of the most talked about titles during 2023. The third and final chapter, Beyond the Spider-Verse, has postponed its release date due to the actors’ and screenwriters’ strike and has not yet announced when it will return to the big screen. Meanwhile, Miles Morales is rumored to become a flesh-and-blood Spider-Verse character in a potential live action adaptation.

During a recent appearance with The Hot Mic, scooper Jeff Sneider announced that Sony Pictures is making some progress in trying to turn Miles Morales into a real boy. In fact, it is rumored that the casting is starting. At the moment no further information has been released, as it is an indiscretion that will require future confirmation, so it is not clear who could potentially play Miles Morales in the flesh nor the film for which he is destined. One of the most popular theories at the moment would be connected to Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, which could anticipate the arrival of a live action. Or it could be a standalone film about Miles Morales. And why not involve him directly in the Marvel Multiverse with Avengers: Secret Wars?
At the moment these are simply theories, but the producer of the Spider-Verse Amy Pascal has repeatedly addressed the potential of Miles Morales on the big screen, stating that they would wait until conclusion of the animated trilogy before evaluating this opportunity. “One day, but not before making the other two films. One day we will. We are very happy with these animated Spider-Verse films”, he said some time ago.
