As admitted by the same Warner Bros. GamesSuicide Squad was a big flop with losses of 200 million dollars and in the face of such a commercial disaster it is reasonable to ask what the future of the project will be, especially with regards to the new content foreseen by the current roadmap.
As for the post-launch content already officially confirmed, there shouldn’t be any problem: Warner Bros. Games has in fact ensured that the current roadmap will be respected and what has already been announced will be added in Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League over the next few months. However, according to what was reported by IGN USA, a spokesperson for WB Games would have specified that “We are not currently discussing anything that hasn’t already been announced“, implying that at least for now there is no plan for long-term support of Suicide Squad once the current roadmap concludes.
There is therefore a grain of truth in the rumors according to which Season 5 of Suicide Squad in 2025 could be the last for the game, unless there are sudden changes in strategy on the part of WB Games and Rocksteady Studios. For now, however, the only certainty is that Suicide Squad will continue until at least part of 2025 with the publication of all the content already scheduled.
In the meantime it seems that Rocksteady is developing a new single player game with which the studio would like to return to its roots after the flop of Suicide Squad.
