And if Viggo Mortensen admitted recently that he has not ruled out the idea but that he has some reservations, Ian McKellen has guaranteed that there is interest on his part. Some time ago the actor confirmed that he had no intention of retiring from the scene and that he would continue acting as long as he wanted. Regarding Gandalf’s potential return, he specifies that despite not having anything concrete in his hands he wouldn’t reject the idea, as long as it arrives on time. Speaking to the Times, he admitted that he had sensed the public’s agitation and added with a joyful expression: “I haven’t shaved in months”, referring to the long hair for her role in Player Kings.

Although he has not yet received any offers to play Gandalf again, Ian McKellen added: “There is no script, there is no offer or action plan yet”.
