The video game franchise of silent Hill is preparing to return to the big screen with a new film, which promises to bring back the gloomy and disturbing atmospheres of the saga born from the efforts of Keiichirō Toyama and his team.
In the last few hours Konami has in fact released the first official teaser trailer Of Return to Silent Hillnew film adaptation of the franchise directed again by Christopher Gans, director of the first adaptation which arrived in cinemas in 2006.
The new project presents itself as a reboot of the events told in previous films, silent Hill (2006) e Silent Hills: Revelations 3D (2012) and, which will surely make fans happy, it will once again be based on the much-loved second chapter of the video game series. In the trailer featuring the protagonists, played by Jeremy Irvine and Hannah Emily Anderson, fans will in fact be able to recognize many iconic elements of the saga, among which the lethal Pyramid Head stands out.
The first description of Return to Silent Hill stars James (Jeremy Irvine), a man devastated by the passing of the love of his life. (Hannah Emily Anderson). When she receives a mysterious letter, he sets out for the town of Silent Hill in search of her beloved. Once he arrives, however, James will find a town transformed by an unknown evil force. Delving deeper into the darkness of the city, James encounters terrifying figures both familiar and unknown as he begins to question his sanity and the reality he finds himself in, to find the strength to save his love for him.

The film was directed by Christophe Ganswho also wrote the screenplay in collaboration with Sandra Vo Anh And William Josef Schneider. Producers include Victor Hadida, Philipp Kreuzer, Joe Neurauter, Molly Hassel, John Jencks, Jay Taylor and Alexa Seligman. Like the video game series, the music for the series was created by Akira Yamaoka.
As for the cast, only two names have been announced so far. Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) will lend his face to the protagonist James Sunderland, while Hannah Emily Anderson (Saw Legacy) will play Mary.
Produced by Maze Pictures, Metropolitan Filmexport, Davis Films and The Electric Shadow Company, Return to Silent Hill doesn’t have one yet official release date. The release of the film, however, should take place during 2024.
