Me and Seccomade with the contribution of the MIC – Ministry of Culture and with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region through the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission, won the special mention at Alice nella Città 2023 The Hollywood Reporter Rome – A look at the future for the direction, with this motivation: “For the sign that is already so sure, for the shots that denote personality and a stylistic continuity with the highest tradition of Italian cinema, with the hope of continuing his research, and the wait for his next steps.”

For Gianluca Santoni’s debut film, Davide Pavanello, aka Dade, signs his first original soundtrack. First bassist for Linea 77 and then in Salmo’s band, Dade is a producer who moves with agility between genres. The soundtrack also includes a classic of Italian music, Dark nights by Tiziano Ferro, re-interpreted in an intimate key by the French Saints, the winning duo of XFactor.

The film tells of Denni, ten years old and a mission to accomplish: save his mother from his father’s violence. He is small, he can’t do it alone. She decides to ask for help from someone who kills people for a living: a super-killer. The person chosen is Il Secco, who is not a criminal, but a harmless drifter in desperate need of money, who pretends to accept the job, but only to rob the child’s father. The meeting between Denni and Il Secco gives life to an adventure that oscillates between drama and comedy, a buddy movie at child level, poised between fantasy and a reality that is even too crude. The two will live an experience that will lead them to question the meaning of being men, and the fear and mystery that unites and separates fathers and sons.
