On Wednesday 22 May the SPES, School of Politics and Social Ethics of the Archdiocese of Udine, will host a meeting – the last of the 2023-2024 edition – on the topic «Connected but alone? Communication in the time of social media”. With a change of program: the professor will not be able to intervene. Giovanni Boccia Artieri, as initially announced, but a very important guest will be present: Luca Chittarofull professor of Person-Computer Interaction at the University of Udine, where in 1998 he founded the Human-Computer Interaction Lab, which studies the effects of digital tools on people. His studies have received more than 11,000 citations in scientific literature, and he is one of the most cited University of Udine professors in the world according to the annual survey of Stanford University. Hot off the press is his latest editorial effort – created together with Giuliano Castigliego – entitled The illusions of social media. Masks and mirrors of our personality (Mimesis Edizioni, 2024).
This last meeting is open to the public, also by virtue of the collaboration between SPES and the diocesan office for the pastoral care of social communications. Appointment from 6.15pm to 9pm in the usual SPES meeting venue, the Garzolini-Di Toppo-Wasseman building in Udine, in via Gemona 92 (home of the University of Udine High School). Participation is free.
