Pirates of the Caribbean, not one but two films coming soon? News about the franchise

The saga of Pirates of the Caribbean travels full sail towards the future. Two months ago it was confirmed that the story would start all over again with a new reboot, and it was said by none other than the producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Now, he’s shared more exciting details that push the franchise in a new direction.

There are two paths that have been put in front of fans: one point towards a film with a protagonist Margot Robbiea female reboot that thanks to the star of Barbie could be very successful. The other, never completely abandoned by fans, instead hopes for a return of Johnny Depp in the role of Jack Sparrow – actually unlikely by the admission of the person concerned.

However, Bruckheimer would like to do things big. Talking with Entertainment Weeklyconfirmed that he and the screenwriter Jeff Nathanson I’m working on the script, the third act is already bomb-proof but details still need to be ironed out in the first and second. Then, he addressed the question of Johnny Depp’s return: «It is a reboot, but if it were up to me, he would be there – said the producer Pirates of the Caribbean -. I love him, he’s a good friend, an artist with a unique look. He created Captain Jack. He wasn’t like that on the page, he was the one who brought Pepé the Skunk and Keith Richards together.”

His return would be welcomed by fans, but things are still difficult on that front. As for the upcoming reboot, however, Bruckheimer did not rule out that he could in fact “split” to bring not only Nathanson’s version but also the female reboot with Margot Robbie to the big screen written by Craig Mazin and Ted Elliot.

«They are two different films – confirmed the producer -. Hopefully we can do both and I think that Disney agree that you really want it also make Margot’s». In that film, it is rumored, Ayo Edebiri from The Bear should also star alongside him.
