After the layoffs at Marvel Studios, new interesting background information has emerged in recent hours on how the various activities at the house are coordinated behind the scenes Marvel.

As you will know Kevin Feige, as well as being the president of Marvel Studiossince 2019 he has also become the creative director of Marvel Comics, Marvel Television and Marvel Animation, and thanks to the over 25 billion dollars grossed during his career (which make him the most successful producer in the history of cinema) he is an important piece in the Disney hierarchy: this means that yes, sometimes it can also intervene in the world of comics.

According to writer Cody Ziglar, for example, the decision to kill Ms Marvel in the comics would have been Kevin Feige’s: The superheroine’s death was told in last year’s Amazing Spider-Man #26 comic, and even though Kamala Khan was resurrected shortly after, the story wasn’t taken very well by fans. The writer of Miles Morales: Spider-Man said in a recent interview: “Some time ago my colleague Zeb Wells told me he met Kevin Feige and that he said something like, ‘You know, I don’t get into these things very often, but could you please write this comic to make things more in line with Marvel Studios? Because we have some plans for Kamala.‘”

Ziglar’s revelations immediately went around the web, unleashing the ire of fans: the connection between Kevin Feige and Zeb Wells is real, given that Wells wrote an episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Marvel Studios’ Law, was also an uncredited co-writer of The Marvels, contributed to the screenplay of Deadpool & Wolverine and is the head writer of the animated TV series Marvel Zombies. However, since the news broke, a spokesperson for the Marvel Comics has “categorically denied the matter” with an email sent to io9. They also clarified that “the decision to make Kamala a mutant character in the comics was an editorial decision, underway well before the events of Amazing Spider-Man #26.” Likewise, the same Marvel Studios have denied Kevin Feige’s involvement in the decision to kill Kamala Khan in the comics.
